PAUL McCARTNEY'S HOUSE ON CAVENDISH
I kept wondering if Paul's greenhouse/planetarium/solarium was still in the back garden here. For years, I thought that Paul no longer owned this house. The last day I was at Abbey Road, I decided to walk by his "old" house. As I approached, the gate was open and cars were being re-arranged in the driveway. A black Mercedes pulled into the driveway. A man got out of the car and shut the gates. I took my photos of the house as seen below and walked back to Abbey Road. I found out later that inside that black Mercedes was Paul returning from New York and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame awards. The man shutting the gates was John Hammel, his driver. Who knew? I had heard dozens of times that Paul no longer owned this house!
I saw Paul, Linda, James, and Michael Jackson in the early 1980's when they were on a tour of Universal Studios in Los Angeles. Below is a frame from my Super 8mm film. I think this was 1981 or 82. We sat three rows behind Paul and Linda during the "Dracula's Castle" show at Universal. They chose Linda out of the audience and she was an unwilling participant in part of the show, but she was also funny and a very good sport about it.
By the way, I later found out that Paul had been at Abbey Road studios March 13, 1999 - the day BEFORE we were there and also the day AFTER - March 17th. He was recording and remixing a CD of "oldies" for release later in 1999. The Abbey Road staff was very good at keeping this secret - the engineers all knew we were Beatle fans.

From my Super 8 film. Linda was making faces for my nephews' cameras.
They seemed to have a great time there.

the car on the other side of this wall when I took this photo!
